National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The NIH Fellowship is for predoctoral training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences and also helps promote diversity in health-related fields. Support is renewable for up to 5 years.

Requirements: Students must be enrolled in a doctoral program. Fellowships are not made for study leading to a MD, DO, or similar professional degree. Applicants must have a sponsor who will supervise the research experience. In addition, students must:

  • Be a prospective/current graduate student
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
  • Study in disciplines of Life Sciences, Health Sciences, or fields related to biomedical and behavioral sciences

Award Amount: The NIH fellowship awards a stipend of $21,180 per year plus a small tuition and fee allowance.

The deadline date for this fellowship is 8/13/2015.
